Taking the lead to protect Hong Kong's environment

As a socially responsible corporation, we are very aware of our vital duty to protect the environment. As such, we are firmly committed to sustainable development and to bring a cleaner environment to our residents, tenants, customers, employees and the community at large. This environmental policy, along with our comprehensive Green Charter, makes our green initiatives not just part of our daily activities but also a key priority of our long-term corporate strategy.

SPS has been adopting the latest practices and incorporating environmental standards into our operating procedures. Initiatives have been taken to reduce energy, save water, minimize air pollution and improve indoor air quality. In 2007, we gained the ISO14001 Certification on Environmental Management System. We introduced solar and wind energy systems in some of our buildings. Programmes to separate and recycle household waste have been implemented in our properties with Tri-coloured recylcle bins. Other items such as printer cartridges, old computers and even seasonal items like mooncake boxes are being recycled. We have been very successful in educating residents by directly involving them in green activities.

We not only understand the importance of green living, we live it every day. And we will continue to invest in the resources to help create more friendly environments.
