Sino Property Services clinches 175 "Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings" certificates

Sino Property Services (SPS) has been a keen supporter of the Water Supplies Department's "Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings" since 2002. This year, its continuous effort in monitoring water quality has once again gained recognition from WSD, leading to 175 certificates crediting 80 properties under the scheme.

SPS always makes customer safety its top priority. Therefore, integrated maintenance schedules and strict guidelines have been adopted at Sino managed projects.

Wesley Sze, General Manager of Sino Property Services said, β€œTo ensure the best quality water is supplied to our customers, water tanks are cleaned once every three months, plumbing systems are monitored on a monthly basis and pipes are inspected and maintained in good condition at all times. We are glad to see that this year more Sino managed projects have received certificates recognising our continuous water monitoring efforts.”

Apart from monitoring water quality, SPS puts great emphasis on water conservation, to promote environmental protection. A collection, storage and filtering system has been installed in Exchange Tower and Skyline Tower to use rainwater for plant watering. The towers reuse bleed-off water from the cooling system to flush toilets, while shower taps are installed to reduce water wastage. Through these efforts SPS has successfully reduced water consumption by five percent.

SPS has launched various environment protection programmes in Sino managed projects, such as Source Separation Programme for Commercial and Industrial Waste, as well as recycling programmes for old books and old computers. SPS has also been committed to running creative green initiatives. Last year, Mission Green Top, a pilot rooftop greening initiative was launched at Skyline Tower. This year to develop a greener environment in commercial buildings, SPS and Hong Chi Association are jointly present another green initiative, Mission Green Thumb. Moreover, several environmental education activities have been held by SPS, such as Sino Green Academy – Students' Green Ambassador Programme in which SPS Green Ambassadors acted as mentors to the students, who conducted carbon audits for the tenants of Sino Group properties. From tenants to members in all walks of life, SPS conveys the message that green is everybody's business.
