Sixteen Sino Group properties awarded Hong Kong Green Mark certification

The Hong Kong Q-Mark Council recently recognized the outstanding environmental performance of 16 Sino Group properties under the Hong Kong Green Mark Certification Scheme. The scheme aims to identify, control and monitor the environmental aspects of a company's operation. It assists companies to deploy a green management system and directs companies to establish environmental performance benchmarks and make continuous environmental improvements.

The awarded Sino Group properties are, namely, The Astoria, Bayview Park, China Hong Kong City (Commercial Tower), Clifford Centre, Futura Plaza, Hong Kong Gold Coast (Phase 2 & Clubhouse), Kowloon Plaza, Mount Beacon, Omega Plaza, One Silversea, Pacific Palisades, Skyline Tower (3rd Floor), Three Bays, Tuen Mun Town Plaza Phase I (Residential Towers), Vision City (Residential Towers) and Westin Centre.

Sino Property Services (SPS) has been adopting the latest environmental practices and incorporating environmental standards into its operating procedures. The company has launched initiatives to reduce energy, save water, minimize air pollution and improve indoor air quality. On top of this, 100 Sino managers have graduated from the Sino Green Academy, SPS"s staff training programme on green management. The graduates work as Green Ambassadors who are qualified to promote green management and environmental awareness throughout 180 Sino properties.

Based on government environmental policy, SPS has been introducing green elements into property management. Forty-six Sino Group properties have applied for the Environment Bureau's new guidelines for carbon auditing, which facilitates the development of an appropriate carbon reduction programme for the properties. Moreover, SPS's implementation of waste source separation has also won wide recognition in the industry.
